Cashews on trees

Who would have thought cashew nuts look like this when they grow? We’re sticking our nose into everything these days, and when we came across a cashew nut plantation on the way back from the rice mill we just had to check it out.
Well, it turned out the fruits didn’t taste that good and the nuts are not quite what we expected either – they need to be fried apparently!
So pretty as they look, the fruit ended up in our inaugural bokashi bucket.
The nuts themselves? Ah, those I saved. I just have to try planting them when we get some bokashi soil going!
