These gorgeous kids are doing a great job collecting plastic bottles off the street. They take them by the sack to a depot nearby where they get paid; it’s probably a valuable contribution to their family economy.
Soft plastic bags have no value so they stay on the street, but in some way there is a basic collection system forming for the higher-value plastic bottles.
One thing we’re learning is that there are many micro-jobs in this trash collection, we’re trying to understand how it all fits together.
